GET A QUOTEFrequently asked questions
Can I use this adapter in reverse (USB‑C laptop to DP monitor)?
No. It is unidirectional only. Signal flows from DP male source to USB-C female DP Alt monitor. It cannot work backwards.
Does this adapter support USB data transfer or PD charging?
No. It transmits video signal only. No USB data, no power delivery. Your portable monitor needs its own power supply.
Why can’t I get 8K@60Hz?
Three requirements must all be met:
1. Graphics card supports DP1.4 & DSC compression
2. USB‑C monitor supports DP Alt Mode & DSC
3. Use an E‑Marker full‑featured USB‑C cable
If any condition fails, 8K@60Hz will not be available.
Will it work with all USB‑C portable monitors?
No. The monitor must support DP Alt Mode. It does NOT work with DisplayLink-based USB monitors.
My monitor shows no signal after connection. How to troubleshoot?
Please check step by step:
1. Confirm the adapter direction: plug DP side into your desktop GPU
2. Verify your monitor supports DP Alt Mode
3. Use an E‑Marker full‑featured USB‑C cable
4. Update your graphics card driver and manually detect display in GPU settings
5. Try turning DSC off for compatibility test
What resolutions are supported?
Up to 8K@60Hz (DSC), 4K@144Hz, 2K@240Hz, 1080P@240Hz. Max resolution depends on GPU, cable and display.
Does it support hot plug?
Yes. Built‑in EDID emulation and HPD hot-plug detection are supported.
